  29. Firstly, some simple things to check for. Do you have enough RAM to unpack
  30. everything there? This can easily be checked by unpacking everything by hand
  31. to see if there are any potential problems here.

  33. And you do realise that you'll need to unpack BOTH patch sets
  34. to RAM: yourself? (ie. the main patch archive plus the support archive).

  36. Also check that you have enough hard disk space. You'll need between three
  37. and four megs of free space for the upgrade and patch to work.

  39. Finally, I'd also double-check that muFS really ISN'T the culprit here. For
  40. a while only half of my file upgrades were being installed due to muFS. An
  41. easy check is to do an mlist over a few of your key Pagestream directories to
  42. see what ownership and protection status it reports.

  44. If all this checks okay, my suggestion would be to run snoopdos while the
  45. installer is at work to see what errors get reported at the stage where the
  46. patch file is de-archived.
